Jean-Pierre R. Bayard California State University, Sacramento E-mail: bayardj@csus.edu Web site(s): http://gaia.ecs.csus.edu/~bayardj/index.html Jean-Pierre's teaching interests are in the use of technology in the teaching and learning of engineering. Over the past six years, he has developed multimedia notes and interactive leaning and assessment modules for several electrical engineering courses. Jean-Pierre believes that technology-mediated instruction, whether it is in the form of television or the worldwide web, is a valuable partner of the traditional classroom teaching, all working toward an enriched learning environment. His leadership in this area earned him the Outstanding Teaching Award for the California State University, Sacramento (CSUS) College of Engineering and Computer Science for the 1997-1998 academic year. He has also been named the outstanding Electrical & Electronic Engineering faculty in 1996 and 1998. He is a member of the CSUS Teaching, Learning Technology Roundtavle (TLTR) at CSUS. His electronic assessment work using the program Librarian has recently been the subject of a case study for Asymetrix (http://www.asymetrix.com/solutions/casestudies/cal-state-univ.html). In November, he will present at FIE an expose of his teaching related activities that are enhanced using computer technology (http://sage.ecs.csus.edu/bayardj/fie99/fie99.htm).
