Andy van Dam has been working on electronic books and educational software projects for over 30 years. From 3D visualizations and microworlds to algorithm visualization to his most recent project, Exploratories (see Anne Morgan Spalter's profile), van Dam has sought to harness the power of interactive computer graphics to improve education. He is a pioneer in the field of computer graphics and co-author of the standard reference in the field, "Computer Graphics, Principles and Practice" (Addison-Wesley).
