Professional Activities Relevant to workshop CSUSM was established in 1989 as the 20th campus in the CSU system; Mahoney is one of twelve faculty of various disciplines hired to implement the opening of this campus. One of the primary emphases is appropriate uses of technology to assist learning. The campus has a computer competency requirement for all students, ensuring that all students are able to use wordprocessors, spreadsheets, and databases within the first semester of their enrollment. The Mathematics Department incorporates various technologies in the classroom, including CAS, dynamic geometry software, visualization software, spreadsheets, CD-ROMs, online tutorials, graphing calculators, etc. This conference allows me to share our experiences and learn about the experiences of others in the educational technology arena.
